During my stints as an educational assistant and a para-professional, my principal kept pestering me to get my master’s degree. After several decades away from school, I was not keen on going back, but I am delighted that I did. My first year of teaching was with adorable kindergarteners. I now have a wonderful class full of eager & charming third grade students at Lewis Elementary School in Portland, OR. Thanks for spending time with us!

  1. Dear Mrs. Kennedy, I just want to thank you for your wonderful Third Grade Art Projects. In my 34th year as a teacher I am happily teaching Third Grade for the first time. We have done “The Best Part of Me,” The Heart of “Things I Love,” Folk Art Trees and Organic and Geometric lines so far. I am thrilled with my students’ enthusiasm and delighted with their art! Thank-you so much for sharing with the world. I give you credit every time we begin one of your projects. I promised the class I would write and thank-you for your awesome ideas!

    • Dear Ms. Dreyer,
Thank you so much for your wonderful note! I am completely impressed that you have been teaching little one for over three decades. That is fantastic! I admire you immensely. It is especially impressive that you are so willing to embrace a new curriculum and art projects. Thank you for including me in your world!

If you would like to view my current blog, please click here Ms. Kennedy Room 17 and you can share weekly photos with your students.

Best wishes to you and your class!
